The newspaper described the bout as "...a ding dong affair that tossed the large audience into hysterics." Regarding weights, the newspaper said: "Kane weighed in at 127 pounds with most of his street clothes on, while Schuster tipped the beams at 129 pounds stripped. This meant a weight advantage of perhaps six or seven pounds for Schuster."
