It was reported by the Everett Daily Herald that Moore "lost the decision in the second round of the semi-final when he failed to put up an adequate defense.... The Sultan boy lost after appearing a sure winner. [H]e caught a wild blow on his mouth and went down. He came up dizzy and couldn't get away from Baker. It was the first solid blow that the Vancouver boy had landed during the bout."
