Britt went after Carter at the start of the bout and appeared to hurt Carter. Carter, who was trading with Britt the whole time eventually gained the upper hand in the center of the ring, and then dropped Britt with eight to ten shots to the chin and head. Britt rose just after the ten-count had been completed.
