"I never saw so many gloves in all my life," commented Fraser, reported The Everett Daily Herald newspaper. "Every time I was set to swing something, he hit me first. Carter was much better tonight than when I fought and beat him a few weeks ago." During the third round Carter hurt his right hand when he hit Fraser on the elbow just before whipping over a left swing that sent Fraser to the floor for a nine-count. Carter won the third and fourth rounds, Fraser the fifth, and the other three were even.
