Leslie Wildcat Carter lost to Tony Portillo by PTS in round 8 of 8
- Date: 1930-05-27
- Location: Civic Ice Arena, Seattle, Washington, USA
- Referee: Adolph Schacht
Portillo scored a no-count knockdown of Carter in the 6th round, with a right hand. The Seattle Times, gave Portillo the first three rounds, and 5th and 6th rounds; while Carter won the 4th, 7th, and 8th rounds. Carter bled from the mouth and nose in the bout, while Portillo was cut over one of his eyes.
Portillo was a last-minute substitute for Doc Snell, who had caught the flu. This reportedly is the first eight-rounder held in Seattle in many years. (Portillo subbed for Doc Snell, who had been taken to a hospital "with an attack of influenza." Spokane Spokesman Review.)
