Billy Miske beat the odds and knocked out Bill Brennan in the fourth round while suffering from Bright's Disease to provide for Christmas and savings for his family. Miske died 55 days later on January 1, 1924, at St. Paul, Minnesota, from the Bright's illness. The Miske-Brennan bout was featured on Fox Sports TV in a 2008 episode entitled Amazing Sports Stories: Billy Miske: Dead Man Fighting. To quote boxing historian Tracy Callis, who appeared on the show: "You've heard the ol' saying of mind over matter. He (Miske) just came out and lit it up. The first couple of rounds were pretty even but in the fourth round he tagged him and put him down."
