Larry Boardman dropped Pat McCarthy four times and each time the Roxbury youngster just made it aloft in the nick of time. In the fourth he was on his feet as referee Eddie Bradley finished the nine count. Twice in the sixth he was half erect when the count reached 10 and thus was saved. In the seventh it seemed a slow count saved him. Then in the ninth at the two minute mark Boardman landed another vicious left to Mac’s head. He swayed to the right and then swayed back to the left, a sitting duck for another left to the face. This one was launched but never landed, Bradley jumped in between, grabbed Boardman’s swinging fist and held it aloft, signifying this thing was over.
