Donahue broke his jaw. According to The Ring,Sept 1948, Donahue would "be on the shelf for 6 months, if not permanently." Evidently he did no more boxing. LaRover knocked Donahue down in the 1st round, for a nine-count, and again at the bell to end the 4th round. Donahue rallied after the second knockdown, and outfought Donahue to win the decision.
