Miller had O'Dowd down three times in the first three rounds. O'Dowd was stronger after the first three rounds, but Miller was still able to win in an easy manner, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.

Miller and O'Dowd had been scheduled to face each other June 23rd in Florence, KY. Rain postponed that program a week. The show was ultimately cancelled, after Miller was forced to contractually appear at Tacoma Bowl on June 27th.
