The Cincinnati Enquirer had the bout even going into the final round, when Harris closed with a big finish, where he appeared to hurt Miler with a right to the body, followed by a left to the chin. The Enquirer reported that both boxers fought at a terrific pace.

The Cincinnati Post had Harris a much more decisive winner, giving him all but the 1st and 7th (even).
