According to the Seattle Times, both boxers were hurt in the 4th round, and by the 6th round Dix was almost out at the bell. In the 7th, Bercot delivered a body pounding to Dix, before he staggered him with a left to the heart and spun him around the ring with a right to the ear. Referee McCarty stopped the bout at this point.
