Dennis McNamee, 175, Pawtucket, racked up his most impressive win by stopping veteran Georgie Johnson, 170, Trenton, N.J., in the eighth round. McNamee piled up points with his sharper punching but Johnson was always dangerous. Midway in the eighth round a solid right to the jaw dropped Johnson. He managed to make it to his feet but was in no shape to continue and the bout was stopped.
