Ramponi knocked Morales down in the 1st round, for a seven-count with a left hook. Ramponi wore himself out trying to finish Morales, and was knocked down in the 2nd and 3rd round. After an even stretch of fighting through the 7th round. Morales knocked Ramponi down for nine with an overhand right to the chin. After Ramponi staggered to his feet, Morales was all over him until the bout was stopped.
