Snell "followed in the trail of 'Wildcat' Carter, Seattle Negro, here last night when his comeback attempt was cut short.... Santos lambasted Snell with vicious rights and lefts through most of the scrap to win a clean cut decision. In his first fight in his return to the ring after more than a year's rest, Snell defeated Carter. The two were Seattle's best drawing cards a few years ago and both now have to start their comebacks over again if they still want to fight. Snell won only one round, the fifth, when he fought like the 'Doc' of old but he was unable to keep up the pace. During his one big attack he cut Santos over the right eye." Everett Daily Herald.
