Forson knocked Erjavec down in the 1st round for a one-count with a left hook. In the 5th round, Erjavec knocked Forson down with a right hand. Forson rose unsteadily at the count of five, and after reeling and holding on for a minute was dropped for a nine-count. Forson rallied well in the 6th and 7th rounds, but was cut over the eye in the 8th round. After an even 9th round, Forson slugged it out with Erjavec in the final round, where he had an edge.
