Abe Attell beat Kid Pelser by TKO in round 2 of 5

  • Date: 1901-03-29
  • Location: Colorado A.C., Denver, Colorado, USA
    • Bout was held on March 29, 1901, at Colorado Athletic Club.
    • "In the preliminaries Buddy King won the decision over Ray Streeter in a five-round go. Abe Attel and Peiser went on for five rounds, but Attel was plainly too much for his opponent and the fight was stopped in the second round." (Denver Rocky Mountain News, March 30, 1901)
    • Otto Floto in Denver Post didn't report the results of the preliminaries, only having written on Kid McPartland-Dave Barry 10-rounder, which he refereed and awarded the decision to McPartland. The decision was disputed by some, but just as many agreed with it, including Johnny Corbett, Johnny Kenny, Jack O'Hara, Dolph Domedian, Reddy Gallagher, Sam Bolan, Abe Attell, Rufe Turner and George English, who were all at ringside.
