Before this fight the Argentinian middleweight contender had won 34 straight bouts. He drew in this exciting New Year's bout. This was the first fight of 1956 at Madison Square Garden. There were no additional fights until February 3rd, due to the New York Boxing Guild's dissolution on January 16 1956, and the booking of the Hollywood Ice Revue at the Madison Square Garden which lasted until January 29th. ^[1]
