Poreda hurt Gorman early in the 2nd round, and had him staggering around the ring near the end of the round. Gorman went to his corner after the 2nd round, bleeding from the mouth and with his left eye closed. The bout was stopped on advice of Gorman's corner by the referee, after the ringside physician examined a bad cut on Gorman's lip.
