Polite was knocked down in the 2nd round. Polite however appeared to have advantages in reach and power as he gave Freeman a beating, leaving him bleeding from the nose, and his left eye cut and swollen shut. The Portland Press Herald felt the draw was an early Christmas present for Freeman.
