The draw decision by the referee was soon reversed to a win for Lee, then reversed days later back to a draw. It was felt that Lee was entitled to the decision according to the Portland Oregonian. Pelz was knocked down twice in the 5th round, though he did appear to hurt Lee in the 6th.
