"At the end of the first round with Lee's head hanging foremost more than halfway out of the ring, none of the 3,000 in the audience would have given him more than a Chinaman's chance to come back. The referee was tolling off the count as the bell sounded. Throughout the second round Lee fought instinctively, just managing to ward off Pelz's rushes. Not until the third round was Lee's head cleared and was he able to keep from taking a beating. The fourth round was an even affair and from then on the fight went to Lee." (UP)
