Coggins knocked Hogue down early in the 1st round with a right to the head. The two boxed on competitive terms, until the fateful 9th round. In the first few seconds of the 9th round, Coggins scored with three left hooks, followed by a right hand that dropped Hogue hard. Hogue staggered to his feet and took two more punches, before the referee intervened.
