- Date: 1966-01-25
- Location: Olympia, Kensington, London, United Kingdom
- Referee: Bill Williams
Jan 25. (AP) - Henry Cooper, the British and Empire heavyweight boxing champion, knocked out Hubert Hilton of Glen Cove, L.I., with a left hook after one minute 20 seconds of the second round in a scheduled ten-rounder. Cooper weighed 192 1/2 pounds and Hilton 194 1/2. Hilton is ranked ninth among the challengers for the world title. Cooper is not rated among the top 10. Cooper staggered Hilton with a couple of left hooks in the first round. In the second, Hilton moved forward into Cooper's famous left hook - the one that floored Clay in June, 1963 - and went down. The American staggered to his feet and wandered to a corner. Referee Bill Williams called a halt to the fight as Cooper prepared to step in again.
