Dalma dominated the early parts, of the bout, sweeping rounds two through seven, according to the Honolulu Advertiser. Young chose to fight at close quarters, which worked to Dalma's advantage, as he outboxed and outpunched Young three-to-one. Dalma's best round was the 7th, when he batterd Young for the first two minutes, and left him with a gash under his left eye. Dalma seemed to tire after this round, as Young rallied to win several rounds. The Advertisr had the bout 6-3-3 in rounds for Dalma, while the Honolulu Star-Bulletin had it 6-4-2 in favor of Dalma.
