Henry Davis 136 lbs beat Philip Kim 141 lbs by UD in round 10 of 10
- Date: 1951-09-18
- Location: Civic Auditorium, Honolulu, Hawaii, USA
- Referee: Walter Cho 17-14
- Judge: Louis Freitas 17-15
- Judge: Albert Botelho 19-16
Kim knocked Davis down in the 1st round, with a right hand counter to the chin, taking an eight-count. Kim laid back in the remainder of the fight trying to land his right hand, allowing for Davis to comfortably outbox him. Davis hit Kim at will in the 7th round, but Kim was able to catch him in the 8th round, rocking him with a left hook to the jaw. Kim returned to fighting on the outside in the 9th round, and again rocked Davis with a left hook to the jaw, but was unable to follow up. Kim may have been cautious after being forced to cut 2 1/2 pounds to meet the contractual weight of 141 pounds.
