Hostak worked his left hook in the 1st round, as he cut Risko along his right eye. Risko came back to win the 2nd by a shade. In the 3rd round, both landed terrific left hands to the head, before Hostak landed a powerful right hand that sent Risko to the ropes. Hostak sent Risko down for the first time in the 4th round, with a pair of left hooks for an eight-count. The two fought an even fifth round, and Risko won the 6th with his jab, while Hostak worked a right hand to the body. Hostak's right hands to the body appeared to slow Risko in the 7th. Hostak then caught Risko with an overhand right that crumpled Risko to the canvas on his face, his mouthpiece flying out as he fell. Risko made no effort to rise and was counted out.
