This slug fest with unbeaten prospect Jason Jenkins (a former University football player) was a runner-up in RING Magazine for producing one of the best rounds of the year.
In the first round Jenkins, weighing close to 270 pounds, pounded Poore unmercifully against the ropes. Just when things looked bleak for Poore, he came back with a short right hand that rocked Jenkins.
Poore poored it on slugging with the much bigger man and dropped Jenkins twice to close out the action packed round. In the second round Poore sealed the deal and stopped Jenkins.
