Brandelli took a terrible beating in the fight. He was floored in the 4th round from a volley of punches. In the 7th round a sharp left to the jaw floored Brandelli. In the 8th, a left hands sent Brandelli down for a no-count knockdown, which finally convinced the referee to stop the bout. The Los Angeles Times felt the fight should have been stopped by the 4th round.
