Former Heavyweight Champion Jim Braddock stopped the bout after Krieger had been floored four times. "It was the first time Krieger had ever been actually knocked out, although previously technically kayoed on cut eyes and such. According to contemporary newspaper accounts Krieger was a shadow of his former self in making weight for the fight.
