Salinas knocked Austin down in the 7th round with a combination, and then had him in trouble along the ropes, leading to a standing eight-count. At this point the timekeeper rang the bell to end the round, and Salinas supporters entered the ring to celebrate an apparent victory. The ring was cleared though, and the two resumed fighting for thirty more seconds before the 7th round was ended.
