"The Sioux City left-hand artist, who has been a credit to the ring while performing around this neck of the woods, gave a splendid account of his ability and peppered the bewildered Liverpool resident often with a varied assortment of punches.
While Rightmire’s left hand cut up the Englishman, who was too slow on the trigger to avoid the sharp shots being thrown at him, none of the blows, including viciously swung right crosses, appeared to make the loser very groggy.
Rightmire held the lead all the way and after cutting Foran’s eye in the first round made that his target. He shifted his attack later to the other orb and split that, but mixed up his shots so that he scored often to the chin with his right hand.
There was no question about the decision and the announcement of Rightmire’s victory was simultaneously with the announcement of his retirement [after a 11-year ring career and a reported 120 fights]."
