Henry Woods 135 lbs beat Hubert Kid Dennis 134 lbs by PTS in round 8 of 8

Woods easily defeated Dennis, as he showed a big edge in the first two rounds with his edge in speed. He settled down in the remaining six rounds, to out-rough Dennis.

Washington state legalized prize-fighting, effective June 8, 1933. On Dec. 11, George Adams, chairman of the state athletic commission, named the very first state champions of each division. (There was no middleweight champion selected, however.) Woods became the first Lightweight Champion of Washington.
