The fight of the night went to middleweights Larry Parks, 156.5, of Atlantic City, NJ, and Chris Hall, 158, of Philadelphia. Parks, 3-3, took a four round split decision over Hall, 0-1, who was making his pro debut. The bout could have been fought in a phone booth, as the two fighters stood toe to toe firing nonstop punches to each other's body for nearly every minute of every round. Some shots strayed low in this prototypical Philly war, but referee Battle let them go at it, before finally deducting a point from Hall in the 4th round. The point deduction did not play a factor in the result, as the scores varied widely. The bout was difficult to score, as Parks landed more punches, but Hall landed the harder shots. Final scores were 39-36 (twice) for Parks and 39-36 for Hall. Fightnews favored Hall by 38-37. Both men are to be commended for their game efforts.
