The knockout of the night goes to Tyrone Winckler, 154, of Philadelphia, when he scored a one punch KO of Baltimore, MD's "Diamond" Matt Hill, 147.5, at 2:58 of the 4th round of what was called a welterweight bout, in spite of the weight differential. Hill came out charging, as is his trademark, throwing bombs with all of his weight behind them. He nailed the southpaw Winckler with a left hook, dropping him in the opening round. Winckler survived, but lost the 2nd round as Hill resumed his swarming attack, but Winckler started timing Hill's rushes with left hands to the body followed by right hands to the head. The pattern continued in the 3rd. Winckler landed several hard lefts, while Hill went to his body with right hands. Hill continued to pressure Winckler in the 4th round, forcing him to the ropes and working his body. During one of these sequences, Winckler exploded a right hand counter on Hill's chin that dropped him in his tracks. A game Hill tried to rise, but was in no condi tion to continue. Winckler improves to 10-7, with 5 KO's, and Hill drops to 4-16-1, with 3 KO's.
