Palmer floored West with a left to the chin in the 1st round, for a short count. West boxed and counterpunched Palmer after the knockdown. In the 3rd round, Palmer attacked West and drove him to the ropes. With his man trapped against the ropes, Palmer landed a left hook that hung West over the ropes. West untangled himself, and fell to the canvas, and though he attempted to rise, just failed to beat the ten-count.
