Griffin was knocked down in the first round, for a four-count, as Roy was the aggressor in the early rounds. Griffin appeared to have the edge going into the final round, when he dropped Roy with a right hand to the jaw. Roy got up at nine, but was in a dazed condition, and the bout was stopped.
