According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Harris had an even chance of pulling the upset, until he was dropped three times in the 9th round, and saved by the bell. Harris was hurt again by left hooks in the 10th round, and pummelled for most of the round, until he appeared to drop, almost from exhaustion, to be counted out.

Reported as Fox's 38th straight KO win. Harris and his manager Harry Pittler would later admit to having thrown this fight due to the mob "having a gun in our ribs".
