Billy Fox 171 lbs beat Artie Levine 164 lbs by TKO at 1:32 in round 3 of 10
- Date: 1947-06-27
- Location: Madison Square Garden, New York, New York, USA
- Referee: Ruby Goldstein
During the brief fight the action was terrific. Both men blazed away with their heavy artillery every round. Just before the gong ended the second session, Levine-who had been taking a severe battering-suddenly lashed out with an explosive straight right that caught Fox flush on the point of the chin. Billy’s knees buckled slightly and he fell forward into a clinch in his own corner. As the gong sounded, Fox slumped down on his stool in his corner, and it seemed he might not be able to come out. But he came out and met Levine’s thunderous attack. They fought toe to toe until Fox smashed Artie with a left hook that knocked him flat on his back under the lower ring rope. (United Press)
