After dropping the first two rounds, Hook knocked Perrin down with a right to the chin for a nine-count in the 3rd round. The two boxed mostly on even terms until the 7th round. Perrin who appeared to be exerting more energy, began to show fatigue in the 7th round. In the 8th round, a right hand to the chin, dropped Perrin on his stomach for a nine-count. Perrin kept away for the remainder of the 8th round, but in the 9th, Hook was all over him, and eventually knocked him out with another right to the chin. Perrin had to be helped to his corner.
