  • Kittikasem struggles to make the light flyweight limit, and commentators speculate early into the bout that he may have rehydrated to as much as 115 to 117 pounds by the time of the bout, a substantial amount of weight for a fighter in the 108 pound weight division. Later in round 4 they again speak of the large frame of Kittikasem and how he looks capable of carrying "118 to 120 pounds in weight".
  • Kittikasem wobbled by a Carbajal left hand late in round 2, but recovers and survives the round despite heavy Carbajal pressure.
  • Carbajal left eye begins to mark up in round 4, with damage to and below the eye.
  • A Carbajal straight right hand-left hook combination floors Kittikasem late in round 4. The Thai fighter rises quickly and appears to not be seriously hurt, but is knocked down again moments later as the bell sounds. He again rises and walks to his corner with a nosebleed to end the round.
  • Kittkasem down late in the 6th round, and again seconds into the 7th. Referee waves the contest off after seeing Kittikasem crumple to the canvas following a series of hard Cabajal uppercuts that snapped the head of the Thai fight back. Speculation is made that damage to the nose of Kittikasem may have occurred.
