Zannelli knocked his opponent out of the ring in the 1st round. After climbing back, Berger suddenly dropped to his knees and was counted out by referee Ben Maculan. Rhode Island Boxing Commissioner Tom Ferrick overruled the verdict and ordered the fight to be continued. Zannelli controlled the rest of the bout, and won handily.
