George Johnson of Trenton, N. J., stopped Irish Jimmy McDermott of Holyoke, Mass., in the seventh round of their scheduled 10-round feature bout at the Exposition Building last night. Johnson decked McDermot three times during the bout and referee Pete Bennett declared the fight over after the end of the sixth round. (Jersey Journal, April 5, 1968)
