Guedes hurt Fox with a series of left hooks in the 1st round. Fox began to find the range to box in the 2nd round, though Guedes continued to hurt him with power shots. In the 5th round, Guedes knocked Fox down for a nine-count. Fox came back in the round to floor Guedes for a nine-count, and then had him down on one knee at the bell, with the count at one. Guedes came back to stagger Fox with a left hook in the 6th round, but Fox came back and had Guedes reeling from right hands. In the 8th round, Guedes dropped Fox with a left hook and right cross, for an eight-count. Fox came back with a hard right, while taking a left hook in return, and then landing a right uppercut that floored Guedes. Guedes barely rose at eight, and now cut and bleeding from the bout, went down again. At this point referee Saurina stopped the bout.
