Shapiro used his edge in height and reach to take the first two rounds. Terranova was the aggressor from the 3rd through 9th rounds, as he cuffed Shapiro around the ring. Shapiro was cut over his left eye in the 4th round, which hampered him thereafter. Terranova put Shapiro down in the 7th with a flurry of blows along the ropes. Shapiro took an eight count, and didn't appear to be in trouble after that.
