A controversial stoppage. Following is the report of Boxing News / Simon Euan-Smith of what happened:

(1) Rowland floored Jones by the ropes with a low left hook, and followed with a right to the head that landed while Jones was down.
(2) While referee Mr Gardner warned Rowland, Jones writhed on the floor in apparent agony, finally slithering out of the ring and over the apron to a TV commentary position.
(3) Once back inside the ropes, Jones continued to writhe on the canvas until Mr Gardner signalled the fight was over.
(4) Jones regained his feet and wlked to his corner still indicating he was in pain from the low blow.
(5) With no one really sure what the result was, Mr Gardner walked over to Rowland and raised his hand.
