Ernie Hood beat Bobby Mars by TKO in round 8 of 10

Mars outboxed Hood in the first six rounds, repeatedly beating him to the punch. Hood began to open up in the 7th round, and went for broke in the 8th round. Hood knocked Mars down with a right to the body, and then put him down for a second time, when the bout was stopped. The Pasadena Post felt that Mars blew the fight, when he decided to slug with Hood.
