Portney dropped LaRosa with his first punch a left hook. The punch did not appear hard, and the referee stopped the count, and ordered LaRosa to get up. LaRosa tried to clinch after this, but went down against from a left hook that the Atlantic City Press felt landed on the shoulder. LaRosa was counted out, and his purse was withheld.
