Bataan using his left jab, appeared to have an edge in the first two rounds. Macias began to effectively counterpunch in the 3rd round, as he worked to Bataan's body in the 3rd and 4th rounds. Macias continued his attack in the 5th, mixing upstairs more, as Bataan began to slow down. In the 6th round, Macias shot a right hand to the jaw that floored Bataan for the count.
