Bernal survived three knockdowns in the fourth round then won by a technical knockout in the fifth with a right that opened a deep, wide gash below Castillo's left eye.

The victory was a stunning comeback for Bernal, who lost the fourth round 10-6 on two judges' cards and 10-7 on another, thanks to the three knockdowns he suffered.
