Early in the fourth round, Krueger landed a left hook that glanced off of the side of Lovell's head. A few seconds later, without another punch landing, Lovell's legs began to wobble. Lovell grabbed Krueger and held, but was pried away by the referee. Krueger than landed another left hook that cause Lovell to stumble before finishing him with a right hand. According to the Los Angeles Times, Lovell was out for nearly four minutes.
